As a kid, were you bullied?
“Oh, every day, yeah. I mean, I kind of sound like I’ve been sucking on helium all day, so I was teased about that a lot. And just because - I was very theatrical, myself, growing up. And I’m from a very small, conservative town so that didn’t really… didn’t work out.”Is there anything you can say to kids that are maybe getting bullied? How did you get through it?
“I think I just focused on what I wanted to do and never let anything upset me. I just - full steam ahead, and just focused on what I wanted to do later.”

“The seniors would say, hey what’s sex with men like, and I would say, don’t you remember”
he was bullied a lot when he was in high school there. here is great video where he opens up about it a bit.
Do you ever hear from any of these kids that you went to school with?
I do, but always like the jackasses, that like, were like mean and cruel, like they were always like ‘Oh, remember how we had such a great time’, and I’m always like ‘No! When you stuck that tampon on my back in homeroom that was not fun for me!’
